nstats requires 

import RandomArray

which is in Numeric. we rather use numpy.

nstats.py is no longer in trunk (see source:https://neuralensemble.org/trac/NeuroTools/browser/branches/working_concept/analysis/nstats.py).

There may be a couple of things in there that should be moved to analysis.py, but I don't think this ticket is relevant any more.
